Peace Through Punishment

I believe Tuesday night was a real eye-opener for both of the political parties. They both learned that the youth of our nation is no longer going to sit back and watch the future of our country be decided by past generations. They got up off their all too comfy couches and they voted.

That's the story that you will here the most over the coming months. And there's no doubting it. The question is why? Was it the social issues? Gay-marriage? Abortion? Or how about the drug war? Reproductive rights? If you notice a recurring theme going on here you're not wrong. The youth of our nation is completely opposed to the idea of big government deciding what we can and can't do with our own bodies. This is why they voted for Obama.

The puzzling factor in all of this is that the party that touts itself as the party of small government is the same party that opposes a women's right to an abortion, discriminates against the LGBT community, calls women who use contraception sluts, opposes the legalization of marijuana (Obama isn't much better on this issue either) and to top it all off wants to increase military spending. I didn't say keep it the same. I said INCREASE it.

They're left puzzled to why they've lost 3 out of the last 4 elections. Well maybe they should take some time to come up with some ideas that the future of our country believe in. Like I don't know peace.... Because right now peace is without a voice.
