Why Twitter is better than everyone else

To me it's quite interesting how tweeting has become a more effective and used platform for communication than blogging or even TV news. Because at least for me at a first glance you'd think that blogging would be more favorable because you could actually say more than 140 characters, but for some reason people have turned away at least to some extent from blogging and have turned to Twitter. Why is that?

One reason could be that when you go on someone's blog there's tons of pages to read and unless you know them or know of them you might not want to go through all that reading to see if the blog would be one your interested in. As opposed with Twitter all you have to do is look at couple of this persons tweets and you suddenly know what this person is about and if you would be interested in hearing what he or she had to say. For it's the 140 character restriction that cuts the bullshit out what people are saying, because there's simply not enough room for it. I think that's probably crux of why, because within great complexity lies simplicity.

I also think the same thing could be said in regard to TV news. Because all I see when I watch is, a little piece of news followed an hour of analysts talking about it telling you what to think. If you watch some of the 24 hour TV news casts you can observe this for yourself. So recently I've been going to Twitter for all my news, and it's actually quite a nice change. All I do is follow @breakingnews and I get in my opinion the best non-bias news source there is. The best part of it is I get to decide if this political figure is being a Nazi or if that political figure is a socialist. And not the news media!! I really realized this during these Egypt protests because I haven't once turned on CNN, FoxNews or MSNBC and I still know everything that is going on. The only news show I watch is The Daily Show and The Colbert Report because they're hilarious and they make fun of everybody.

Thanks for the read,

Max
